Computer Futures hosted the second NYC/Tri-State area Dynamics AX user meet-up in SoHo, New York City on June 16th. It was a mix of networking as well as three presentations from senior consultants in the Dynamics AX space on tips/tricks and trends in AX.

Brandon Ahmad one of the top technical experts in the Dynamics AX space, presented on AX7 functionality, reviewing enhancements to Self-Service BI along Dynamics AX, Excel, and Analytics. He also demoed a custom AX 7 retail dashboard that will be available for users to test out.

The second presentation was by Luca Leonte, Technical Solutions Architect, on the best practices during a Dynamics AX upgrade or implementation. There was some great discussion around data migration and how best to accomplish this.

Last but not least, Jeff Einig of Microsoft demonstrated PowerBI for the group, going over the newest features and what’s in store for PowerBI in future upgrades.

We had 25 users across 15 businesses attend the meet-up, in sectors ranging from apparel to media, on AX v4.0 through AX7. Some special shout-outs to some of our clients and consultants who drove down to New York from Connecticut, and to Brandon for coming all the way from Texas to present.

Our next event will take place in September and those presenting will be announced at the beginning of August. If you would like more information about the group or are interested in presenting, please contact Chris Hurley.
