We had the privilege of interviewing with Frank Leperre, a specialized freelance associated with Computer Futures. With an impressive 25 years of experience in the IT industry with the Microsoft formal product of Navision he worked in more than 15 different international companies all over Europe.
What does he like most about his job? What are the main advantage to work via Computer Futures? Why did he choose to work in the IT industry? Frank answers some of these questions in this interview.
On which project are you working on currently?
I’m actually working as Business Partner on a BC implementation. I’m in charge of the correct setup of all Financial parameters.
What do you like the most about your job?
What I enjoy most about my job is ensuring customer satisfaction. Training our clients to use the system as designed by Microsoft is a key aspect of my role. Sometimes, this requires the customer to adopt new ways of working. However, when I successfully convince the customer to embrace these changes, they can achieve significant gains in efficiency.
I have a great working relationship with my Computer Futures contact person, Femke. Whenever I have a question or encounter an issue, she promptly and efficiently finds solutions to address them, ensuring that similar challenges are avoided in the future.
What has Computer Futures meant for your career? What are the main advantages of working through Computer Futures?
The first contact with the Computer Futures team was smooth, friendly, and highly professional. I had the opportunity to choose my current mission, which happened to be conveniently close to my home, an essential criterion for me. What truly impresses me is the specialized recruitment consultant's commitment to understanding my needs, ensuring they find a project that aligns perfectly with my interests. One other advantage is that all the admin part is really being taking care of by Computer Futures with smooth and simplified invoicing/timesheet processes thanks to their workflow system.
Why did you choose to work in the IT sector?
I have always been deeply interested in new technologies, and one of my most significant achievements that fills me with pride is the global implementation of the Navision and Business Central system across numerous countries worldwide.
Business Central (BC) is an ERP system developed by Microsoft, specifically designed for mid-size class SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises). It boasts the advantage of being an open-source software, capable of supporting various functionalities, including Logistics, HR, Sales & Marketing, CRM, Manufacturing, and all Financial processes. The system's versatility is further enhanced by its availability in multiple languages and accessibility through the cloud. This allows users to conveniently consult and approve revenue and expenses from anywhere using their mobile devices.
Another remarkable feature of BC is its ability to facilitate the setup of unlimited intercompany companies at a consistent price point. Intercompany transactions are seamlessly executed, making the process of selling to another entity and it becoming an automatic purchase in the other company a seamless experience.
What are your next objectives regarding your career?
I just want to continue to bring all my local and international Finance knowledge to help companies and my colleagues. My objective is also to continue to improve my skills, I just passed the Microsoft Business Central MB-800 certification in November of last year.
What advice would you give to someone that aspires to start his/her career in your industry/sector?
Don't be afraid to accept new challenges and embrace new projects. Doing so will provide you with opportunities to meet new people who may offer fresh ideas to expand both their businesses and yours.
