The Bristol Technology Showcase 2018

Computer Futures is proud to present and sponsor the 2018 Bristol Technology Showcase, "Technologies of tomorrow, presented today". This event aims to bring new discussions to the city of Bristol and will be a great opportunity to provide individuals and business stakeholders with insights into the global impacts of accelerated technology change and innovation, as a result of the 4th Industrial Revolution.

Location: Arnolfini in the centre of Bristol, Narrow Quay.

We are thrilled to announce that our host will be Nick Rutherford, Bristol based Technology and Transformation Leader, and that our 4 guest speakers will be:

  • Keynote Speaker, Mark Skilton: Professor of Practice, Information Systems Management (ISM) and Industry Director of the AI Innovation Network in the University of Warwick Business School.
  • Peter Stirratt: Commercial Manager at SenSat, the UK's largest provider of drone data to infrastructure projects. Sensat are investigating potential applications, which include operating smart cities, to understand interlinked variables, understanding transport infrastructure flows, telecommunications networks or the behavior of fleets of autonomous vehicle. Peter is also the Department for Transport's Infrastructure Drone Pathfinder Partner, CrunchBase top ranked AI company in EU capturing spatial data to enable future technology including Smart Cities.
  • Dr Neil Pennington: Strategic Adviser for the Energy Web Foundation whose mission is to accelerate the widespread adoption of mass-market blockchain applications in the energy sector. Organisations include DISC, Rivetz and the Commonwealth. Neil is also the former Smart Programme Director and UK Innovation Director at RWE
  • Nick Sturge: Nick is the Institute of Directors (IoD) Chairman for the South West, and sits on IoD National Council. He is Vice-Chair of the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership High Tech Sector Group and on the steering board of TechSW. He also co-founded Engine Shed, which hosts the SETsquared Bristol Centre.
