As a Data Engineer you will be joining a business Founded in 2014 by four leading scientists from the University of Oxford the company leverages the latest Machine Learning algorithms and data analytics technology to provide predictive data analysis software that can be utilised by a number of industries.
About the role:
You will take ownership of how to solve the central issue of translating complex EHR data into biologically and medically relevant phenotypes.
Expanding the companies catalogue of derived phenotypes to include complex traits like drug response and longitudinal biomarkers.
Managing in-house phenotyping algorithms and analysis pipelines.
Interfacing in-house pipelines with external EHR systems
MSc or PhD in biomedical informatics, human genetics, or related STEM fields.
Experience working with electronic health record (EHR) data
Demonstrated proficiency with the Python programming language.
Demonstrated proficiency with relational databases and SQL.
The ability to summarize and visualize complex datasets to identify patterns and potential biases.
Familiarity with existing phenotyping approaches (e.g. PheCodes).
Experience with statistical programming languages such as R
Experience with version control using git.
Experience of working with individual-level genetic datasets.
Experience with writing and maintaining unit and acceptance tests for scientific software.
Experience monitoring CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GoCD, GitLab).
