An exciting position for senior or principal electronics design engineer looking to take the next step in their career.

My client is looking for an all-round electronics design engineer with excellent technical knowledge who can demonstrate good leadership qualities. The company will be building a new electronics team within the engineering department, and you will be at the helm.

You will need experience working within a safety critical industry eg. Oil and Gas, Rail, Defence or Aerospace.

You must be technically sound and confident speaking to customers and supplier. Ideally you will be trained to signature level and you will be responsible for all electronics activities within the company. You will be able to identify, select and manage additional electronics resource requirements (internal and external) to execute projects.

Experience with Analog is essential - circuit experience including experience with Op amps, signal conditioning. You will be accountable for design, development and review of analogue and digital circuits (from concept to final product).

Power supply design, high accuracy / wide temperature range circuits, and EMI/EMC compatibility.

Embedded microprocessor/DSP systems design is essential and Freescale Processors or Texas Instruments DSPs processors is highly desirable.

R&D experience is necessary as is full project lifecycle knowledge. You will be working on NPI as well as modifying and supporting in service products.

Working alongside project managers and design authorities you will be able to resolve technical, project or resource problems and disputes.

Past exposure to a robust electrical design and development engineering environment is desired.

Eg. Tollgate Driven Design and Design Review, Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) scorecard, Design For Reliability & Design for Manufacture programs, Component Obsolescence Management, multi-layer board design.

Occasional UK and/or overseas travel to customers required
