My client is looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to join their Belfast based growing team. In this fully remote role, you will work with industry standard & cutting-edge technologies (including Java, Spring, React, Docker, AWS and REST APIs) alongside a team of UK based experts.

This is an interesting & challenging multi-dimensional role which requires a holistic view to build complex, high quality product features using the latest technologies & techniques and a CI/CD methodology.

Responsibilities include:

* Development of high-quality software products that are delivered in the cloud and on premise.

* Design, implement and test complex software features in a productive & timely manner.

* Responsible for creating software with automated test cases in a high-paced environment.

* Participating in team daily stand-ups, sprint planning meetings, design reviews and retrospectives.

* Working independently under minimal supervision and as part of a team taking ownership of assigned tasks through to completion.

* Provides peer advisement to other Senior Software, Software and Associate Software Engineers, through code/design reviews and peer-programming efforts. Assists less experienced peers.

* Working with members of the Product Management, QA, Architecture and Support organization and resources in other geographic locations.

* Engaging in research of new technologies & architectures to improve product.

Key personal attributes include:

* Escalate issues in a timely manner to line management.

* Experience with estimating engineering effort, prioritizing tasks, and capable of handling both standard planned projects and ad hoc support issues.


* A Software engineer with high technical aptitude and experience of 3 years is essential.

* The ability to demonstrate experience in the automation of Software testing and build systems is desirable.

* The ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of cloud platforms such as Amazon AWS and associated cloud technologies is desirable.

* Experience in the design and programming of applications that can be deployed in a clustered environment and scaled horizontally is desirable

* Experience in fault-tolerant or highly available, distributed systems is desirable.

* Possessing proficient working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within agile software development

Skills and Knowledge

* Proficiency in Java programming is essential.

* Experience developing/consuming REST based web services

* Production experience building software with Core Spring Framework and Spring MVC is desirable.

* Proficiency in front end development technologies (React/JS, HTML, CSS) is desirable.

* Experience with recent JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue or Angular.

* Experience with build tools such as Jenkins, Maven, Webpack, and NPM is desirable.

* Working knowledge of distributed source control solutions such as Git is desirable.

* Experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems is desirable.
