Product Architect opportunity to join a well know financial institution working out of their London office on a Hybrid basis.

Product Architect Position - £50,000 - £80,000 DOE + Fantastic Benefits - Hybrid - London

The organisation is looking for an ERP Product Architect to join the Enterprise Resource Planning Product Group within the Data, Technology and Innovation (DTI) division. The ERP Product Group supports the organisation in carrying out its key business activities through digital systems including Workday, ServiceNow, Clarizen, CAMMS and Jira.

The ERP Product Architect role sits within the Product Group, reporting to the Lead Product Architect, and is responsible for the overall Product Architecture, services, roadmap, architectural decisions, review of architectural proposals, technical designs, integration strategies and setting technical standards.

Key roles & responsibilities:

  • Establishing and implementing standards and guidelines that govern the design of ERP technology solutions including architecting solutions which require the integration of multiple platforms and SaaS applications across the enterprise
  • Producing architectural solutions including technology and service ensuring solutions consider capacity management, ITSCM, security and software licensing requirements, high level outlined architecture to detailed architecture, and where required, high level technical designs that are aligned to enterprise architecture standards, cover any required product group integration and all relevant architecture domains align with enterprise product strategies to meet agreed acceptance / definition of done criteria
  • Providing technical guidance, reviewing and quality assuring artefacts created by external suppliers and internal teams ensuring the quality of the delivered solution fulfils business and non-functional requirements and adheres to technical designs with full traceability
  • Producing product roadmaps, architectural design papers, review of architectural proposals, design decisions, and supporting procurement activities
  • Identifying opportunities for product innovation and shape design proposals for taking this forward; driving innovation at a product level where this delivers quick wins and business benefit and is in the boundary of the product roadmap
  • Contributing to the relevant Communities of Practice in the form of knowledge sharing and mentoring of other employees to build the overall business, technical and product architect capability within DTI

Skills/Experience Required:


  • Experience as a solution architect, working in professional services, financial services, or the public sector / regulated environment, using architecture methodologies and tools (TOGAF, EA Sparx, RSA etc) to deliver sound high level technical designs, architecture deliverables and providing advice and guidance in relation to maintenance of an architecture road map.
  • Experience in complex and significant n-tier implementations (£5M+), delivering architecture artefacts to software project management, SDLC, SCRUM, Agile methodologies
  • Prior hands-on experience of ERP systems and Architecture
  • Experience in providing guidance and technical direction to internal teams to enhance and deliver ERP technology solutions


  • Experienced in interpreting business strategy into technical architectures, and awareness of the relationships between systems and process
  • Experienced in system engineering and/or development experience with an up-to-date understanding of best practice application / business domain solution architectures and associated domains
  • Knowledge and understanding of architectural concepts, methodologies and mapping approaches, and relevant solution architecture skills across Data, Application, and Infrastructure etc.
  • Ability to work with imperfect information in the environment of uncertainty whilst still maintaining high standard, evidenced designs and documentation.
  • Experienced influencer and negotiator with credibility and gravitas, balancing the needs of the business whilst ensuring alignment to the Organisations enterprise and technical architecture
  • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills, able to convey technical solutions to business stakeholders
  • Commercially aware, the ability to understand supplier proposals and promote cost effective solutions
  • Experience in working within an Agile DevOps team


  • Relevant industry qualifications e.g TOGAF, ITIL, BCS Agile, BSc Enterprise and Solution Architecture or related IT discipline or possesses Solution Architecture related certifications
  • Familiarity with, or ability to quickly grasp, the business drivers of the Organisation as well as its primary processes
  • High-level data modelling understanding and experience
  • Knowledge of key platform technologies and software architecture eg ERP (preferably Workday), records, content and knowledge management, and security and cloud architecture
  • Strategic and pragmatic thinker, focused on outcomes and the bigger picture with the confidence to engage constructively to challenge established approaches
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, collaborating across the organisation and using various techniques to facilitate innovation
