We are looking for a senior developer with seriously deep technical knowledge. People who love technical progression and your experience matches the companies technical domain. These roles will be based in the companies central Bath office (once it fully re opens) but for now the team are working remotely.

This great company has been hugely successful across the world selling their own edge based virtualisation and containerization software. Off the back of their amazing success they have partnered with a multi billion dollar American company who are feeding in the clients but letting these guys do what they do best, build amazing software and offer first class customer service. They now have the money behind them to really expand which is creating more jobs and progression opportunities for all. They have continued to hire through the pandemic and they are still not stopping.

The technologies used by the core development teams include Python, REACT, JavaScript / JSON, Apache CouchDB, C++, C and Bash amongst others. The operating systems used are Linux (Ubuntu / Debian). Open source Kernel and functional libraries are integrated with proprietary development. Virtualization is powered by the Xen Hypervisor technology. The disk subsystem is based on ZFS/ZOL. They leverage AWS and VMWare for Cloud Platforms and leverage Terraform and Ansible for their build. Future projects may include managing Kubernetes containers optimised for processing, high availability and remote update on Edge Infrastructure.

Within Engineering is also a CI and Infrastructure team that focuses on the build, deployment and process automation frameworks that support release management, certification and the development process. Technologies used in this specific team additionally include Gitlab, Jenkins, Docker, Ceph, Make, and Proxmox.


What would make you perfect for the team?
Minimum 2:1 in Computer Science or similar subject or significant relevant experience including in depth programming
Team leading / SCRUM Master experience
Technical Design experience
Strong programmer in two or more languages, ideally Python but this is not mandatory
Hardware and operating system management, networking, security, server technology.
Sysadmin work e.g. Linux and Server administration, BASH
Virtualisation and Containerisation
