You have the opportunity to join a small, exciting and enthusiastic start-up company based in the heart of Cambridgeshire. This will be a permanent role delivering next generation telecommunications. You will be working in a fast paced, dynamic environment and on features/projects that will be constantly ongoing with exciting innovative implementations. The role will be technically stimulating and be permitted by an enthusiastic mind-set. The company are close to guided bus-way/cycleway access and sufficient parking facilities.

The Senior Software Test Engineer will be part of a small team, the job will involve working on and re-writing test plans for tests not communicating with each other properly. This will involve working with and managing medium level engineers.

Key Responsibilities

- Execute integration and system test plans within set timescales
- Investigate and document defects in a defect-tracking system and work towards resolution to ensure a quick end of defects
- Contribute to creation of comprehensive functional, regression, performance and load/stress test plans and adhere to test procedures
- Work with development and customer support teams to ensure product and customer success
- Work closely with development team to ensure timely problem solving
- Follow standard verification processes and procedures

Skills and Experience

- Previous experience in telecoms environment
- Must have experience writing test plans
- Experience using framework such as Jenkins or pytest
- Experience with test automations
- Experienced using Linux/Unix
- Passion and experience troubleshooting/debugging
- Microwave radio
- ISTQB qualified


Atlassian (Jira)
- Frameworks such as Jenkins or Pytest
- Test Tools: Ixia, Spirent and Wireshark/Ethereal
- Languages: Python, TCL and Expect - Network protocols: NTP or PTP

Other requirements

- Able to work indefinitely in the UK
