We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our dynamic team at a leading credit card company. As an SRE, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of our systems and applications. Your expertise in managing cloud infrastructure, particularly with AWS, combined with your proficiency in Japanese, will contribute to the success of our organization's technology initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable systems that support critical credit card operations.
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize system performance, responding proactively to incidents and outages to maintain uninterrupted service for our customers.
- Build and maintain infrastructure automation and configuration management tools to streamline operational processes and maintain security standards.
- Implement best practices for continuous integration, continuous deployment, and testing in a DevOps culture to ensure timely updates and improvements.
- Ensure security and compliance standards are upheld in all stages of development and operations, safeguarding sensitive credit card data.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across the technology stack, working with teams to identify areas for improvement and driving enhancements.
- Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to incident response and post-incident reviews, mitigating risks to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Document processes, procedures, and best practices specific to credit card operations to ensure clarity and consistency in the team's operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or similar role in a production environment, preferably within the financial or credit card industry.
- Strong experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) services and cloud infrastructure, ensuring secure and compliant handling of sensitive customer data.
- Proficiency in Japanese, both written and spoken, to effectively communicate with Japanese-speaking team members and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Go, Bash) to contribute to automation efforts.
- Solid understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes, enhancing deployment efficiency.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) to maintain consistent infrastructure deployments.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) to ensure the stability of credit card services.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and associated tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) to facilitate reliable software delivery.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate effective communication across teams
Preferred:
- AWS certification(s) demonstrating expertise in cloud services and architecture. Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Google Cloud Platform) to broaden cloud technology knowledge.
- Knowledge of infrastructure security practices and tools, ensuring robust protection of credit card data.
- Previous experience working in an Agile or DevOps environment, contributing to the team's agility and efficiency.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) to manage and automate configurations effectively.
