My client is a worldwide leading supplier of IT transport solutions based in Maynooth. They assist more than 1,100 transport companies in public transport systems, making mobility easier for both the users of systems and for passengers throughout Europe, America, New Zealand, Australia and Asia.

This is a hybrid role with requirement to be in office each week and additional travel to Germany 2 or 3 times a year.


  • You will develop and maintain innovative solutions for public transport
  • Focus on enhancing the control center software for automated vehicle location (AVL), intermodal transport control system (ITCS) and electromobility applications
  • Software development will include analysis, design, implementation and testing for our international projects
  • Assuming responsibility for specific software modules and the integration into the overall system
  • You will work in close cooperation with the development and projects teams in the HQ in Germany
  • Proficient in Java, JPA, Spring, REST, Maven and PostgreSQL


  • Third level qualification in Computer Science/Engineering or a related discipline
  • 4+ years experience with object-oriented software development based on Java
  • Experience in Java Persistence API and relational databases such as PostgreSQL would be a plus
