My client are a global supplier of engineering, manufacturing and supply chain workforce and government IT solutions helping towards engineering better outcomes for customers ranging from jet engines, airframe and avionics to heavy vehicles and cybersecurity.
They are currently going through a period of significant growth, and require a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to join the team, on a permanent basis.
You will be responsible helping support over 500 users and owning the infrastructure / datacentres in their Bristol site working in collaboration with their other sites involved with BAU and exciting project work.
The majority of the work is working within Windows so you will need to have this nailed. The right candidate will have experience within VMware and design and support of server infrastructure and confident in configuration, support and maintenance.
You will support 4 Unix servers and be heavily involved in upgrading systems on prem working on VMware and phasing out HyperV and looking to upgrade legacy systems as they are phased out also.

Candidates will be expert users in VMWare and Hyper-V supported ideally with previous experience of Linux, with additional technical skills within DNS, DHCP and VLAN.
