Position Summary

We are seeking a solution-oriented, customer-first minded, and hands-on professional to bring digital solutions to realization and provide total support for all networked and digital products. This role will be responsible for technical implementation, cyber assurance, fleet management and ongoing support for all digital solutions and will be a core member of the digital leadership team.

Roles and Responsibilities

PND Management

  • Manage PND resources and directly contribute to ensure that all digital implementation and support tasks are completed per company objectives.
  • Perform growth and capacity planning activity based on local strategy and in coordination with functional leads in corporate.
  • Provide performance management, career development, coaching and other management functions for all direct reports.

Technical Implementation of Digital Solutions

  • Act as subject matter expert for technical specifications and requirements for digital solutions with customers and internally with cross-functional teams.
  • Pre-implementation verification to prepare site for remote connection and product installation.
  • Blueprint technical architecture of digital solutions within hospital system environment based on predetermined clinical workflow and agreements.
  • Perform configuration and installation of digital products.
  • Provide explanation and training to hospital IT department post implementation.

Fleet Management and Ongoing Support

  • Implement new configurations, upgrades, and enhancements as needed.
  • Perform ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support for installed digital products.
  • Align resources outside of department (i.e., field service, technical support, customer service, etc.) to ensure high customer satisfaction with support services.
  • Escalate issues, requests, requirements, and product development opportunities to corporate teams

Cyber Assurance

  • Act as Information Security Officer for digital solutions, supporting cyber and data regulations and guidelines for networked medical devices and services.
  • Administer access and authorities related to digital products in accordance with company guidelines and local requirements.
  • Create and maintain service or department procedures and documentation


  • Support for other regions, primarily APAC as needed
  • Ad hoc projects as assigned by manager
  • Engagement with KOLs and societies on areas of expertise

Other Expectations

  • Occasional overseas travel required


Skill/Job Requirements

  • Minimum BS degree in software engineering, biomedical engineering, or equivalent training/experience
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in relevant position (technical architecture, system engineering), required
  • 5+ years of experience in medical technology / medical software systems, strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of network operations, configuration, and trouble shooting (TCP/IP, HTTPS, router skills, VLANs, VPN, firewall, NAT/PAT), required
  • Experience with LDAP, HL7 and DICOM, strongly preferred
  • Deep knowledge of core IT technologies and processes (network systems, OS, databases, access controls, change control processes, app and system development, IT operations, incident response, monitoring, and asset management), required
  • Familiarity with cyber security and data privacy best practices, required
  • Understanding of MHLW/METI guidelines related to medical information handling, strongly preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with ISO 27001 / JIS Q 27001 ISMS, strongly preferred
  • Ability to discuss technical information with a wide range of audiences adeptly
  • Complex problem-solving skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Strong personal management and administrative ability
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Japanese language: Native level
  • English language: Business level written and oral ability
