A global media company that provides both digital and offline products (in the field of fashion and entertainment) for millions of consumers around the world! As a major media company, they also support advertisers to reach targeted consumers in both a digital and offline platform. They have a global working environment and are constantly expanding their team in sales and operations globally and locally in Japan. Their office is located in a prime location in Tokyo and also offers remote/hybrid opportunities.

The role is to bring the right audiences to the brand, and ensure engagement and return visits. This provides 'top-of-the-funnel' for the Commercial and Consumer Revenue team. The ultimate goal is to increase audience and reader revenue through subscriptions, events, and other activities and The Social Media Lead is a key role in the process of building and engaging audiences.

* Manage day-to-day posting, editing and optimization of content on multiple social media platforms including Facebook/ Instagram/ LINE. (Selecting images, videos and visual content to attract audiences)
* Execute on best-in-class social storytelling, gathering assets from different teams
* Plan and execute community strategies, including Branded, Commercial Campaign.
* Seamlessly integrate with Content/Edit and guide teams daily on story positioning (for Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, for example)
* Create and foster communities on social platforms
* Report on content performance and present social insights and best practices to various stakeholders
* Develop and test user growth strategies with Aud Dev/Marketing/Data Teams.
* Adjust social strategy according to KPI pacing and report on any wins and losses
* Brainstorm new ideas and plan rollout strategies for testing with the audience development team
* Always seek new opportunities to engage with our audience both new and existing.
* Report on content performance and present social insights and best practices to various stakeholders
* Work with the commerce team to strategize ways to increase traffic (and therefore revenue) to commerce content
* Adjust social strategy according to KPI pacing and report on any wins and losses

* 3+ years of social media experience, preferably with experience working for a digital publisher. Strong writing skills for captions, headlines and visual storytelling
* Excellent organizational skills, focus, and attention to detail
* An established ability to synthesize and communicate information quickly
* Must complete an edit test (writing samples are a plus!)
* Able to work outside standard working hours (occasional evenings and weekends)
* Ability to clearly articulate and present to editorial colleagues and all levels of communication.
* Must be fluent in English (both written and spoken) and strong in Japanese.
* Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as a team player.
* Experience in operative marketing experience from fashion retail or media agency or digital agency.
* Experience in video production and editing is a plus
* Experience working across cultures and communicating with colleagues in other international markets is a plus.
* Experience in community management is a plus.
