We are looking for an experienced ServiceNow Sr. CMDB and Service Mapping Consultant to join our Enterprise Applications team. Successful candidates will leverage their significant ServiceNow support, operations and production management experience for a team of passionate and fun ServiceNow engineers ensuring timely execution of enterprise solutions. This role will work collaboratively with our IT leaders and business partners across the enterprise to strategically plan and prioritize development requests so that we can ensure we support timely, consistent, and quality CMDB. Contributes to process improvement efforts by providing constructive feedback on a range of issues, suggesting alternatives, and driving continuous process improvement. Act as an escalation point of contact to resolve highly complex technical issues as they pertain to the CMDB and will work with various core teams, CI owners and stakeholder to understand process requirements and translate them into technical specifications for Service Map implementation through:

  • Perform the build of Service Maps, test them and work for Customer acceptance.
  • Work with process owners/SMEs to understand the Mapping requirements related to the capture of configuration data and develop technical specifications and solutions
  • Work with Application SMEs to obtain the key pre-requisites such as Application credentials to create and validate Service Maps for key applications
  • Participate in Stand up and other status meetings and update assigned Stories, create stories where appropriate
  • Maintain the integrity of the Service Mapping tool across production and non-production environments (at the discretion of the customer)
  • Assisting thorough testing, troubleshooting any issues and upgrades
  • Review the Maps once done, ensure all the required tables being populated into the CMDB and act as partial owner of the stories

Position Responsibilities:

  • A leader in their area of expertise, recognized as a subject matter expert in all aspects relating to CI automated Discovery and the CMDB, ensures that the implemented process is followed to guarantee the integrity and accuracy of the data within.
  • Experienced in industry standards, implementations, and audits of the CMDB. Leads CMDB discovery remediation's and / or troubleshooting efforts either on request or proactively.
  • Takes ownership and leadership of CMDB initiatives. Champion of CMDB discovery process and procedures to ensure data accuracy and integrity to support the CMDB and SACM processes.
  • A thorough understanding of Applications, Infrastructure, and related Service Management processes.
  • Conduct Service Mapping Workshops & drive the questionnaire
  • Service Mapping of the business Services
  • Following CSDM model to map the business services and related components
  • Develop Service Mapping patters as required
  • Experience in Creating , updating and maintaining CMDB's and other asset / configuration management repositories in a complex IT environment
  • Experience in identifying and tracking CI's, implementing change control and accounting for discovered / manual CI's in a complex IT system
  • Managing CMDB health to support Assets and Configuration and CI relationship, as coming from discovered sources, manual sources from like relationship data from Network team
  • Interact with the Asset management system to ensure data quality of new or change Asset records
  • Ensure data integrity both from the ownership and discovery standpoints
  • Experience in creating, updating, and maintaining CMDB's and other asset / configuration management repositories in a complex IT environment
  • Build solutions around data certifications (if required) for maintaining CI sanity, verify the CI identifiers and reconciliation rule, verify the Discovery schedules
