I am working with that is developing a cloud based intelligence and analysis product portfolio for the insurance, financial services and government sectors. The software that they are creating will help stop crime and fraud. They operate in an agile approach to development. This is not your usual Software house or consultancy.
As a member of staff in the Engineering department, you will be given the backing and support to help bring our initial product set to market. You will be reporting directly to the Lead Product Development Engineer, and will be instrumental in getting our product to market.
A good base knowledge of the Java programming language, plus associated tooling such as Maven, Git and a modern IDE such IntelliJ IDEA. The company are moving towards a CI/CD automated pipeline, so experience with the design and implementation of unit tests using libraries is essential. My client also requires you to have experience in consuming API services using both REST and SOAP, so experience working with XML and JSON is essential.
- Unit testing using JUnit
- Experience in Java Enterprise Edition (JEE)
- Comfortable working at the command line level in Mac OSX or Linux
- SCM systems such as Git or Subversion
- Experience with both SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, DB2 etc) and NoSQL databases
- Microservice based architectures using Docker including Swarm Mode or Kubernetes
- Minimum 2:1 Computer Science or related degree
- Use of public cloud providers such as AWS
- CI/CD pipeline tooling such as Jenkins or GoCD
- Docker including Swarm Mode or Kubernetes
- JBoss and/or Wildfly
- Apache Kafka
