This is a fantastic opportunity to join a cloud-first environment, utilising your knowledge and experience to help us redefine my client's core platform. You will have the opportunity to work right from the beginning of the project in the R&D phase all the way through to delivery. You will be working with high throughput and low latency systems and bringing new ideas to the table to help take the platform to the next level. The company are a cloud first environment so any experience working with Google Cloud Platform or AWS would be advantageous.

Day to day, you will be responsible for:

  • Owning the end to end software delivery process
  • Building maintainable, testable, resilient software systems including monitoring and operational impact throughout the process
  • Working in a fully agile environment alongside architects to design the system
  • Working as part of a team - mentoring developers and ensuring coding standards are met
  • Helping the product owner to establish priorities and estimate deliverables
  • Mentoring and couching people directly reporting into you

We need someone who is…

You should be proficient in working as part of a team, a self-starter with:

  • Above 5 years of professional coding experience ideally in more than one language
  • Proven experience working on big production systems handling very large amount of data on a fairly complicated domain
  • Proven experience in Java object oriented development
  • Working with a mixture of RESTful and push APIs (JSON and XML)
  • Testing Frameworks e.g. Junit/Mockito
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP or AWS)
  • Working in a team environment and mentoring junior developers
