Computer Futures' relationship with an IT supplier to the banking and retail sectors demonstrates the excellent value of our service and the personal commitment that our consultants invest with their clients.

The Challenge

The roles that the company recruits for lie within contract development. Computer Futures had worked together with the client on an ad-hoc basis for several years but bolstered the relationship in 2010 when we were set a particularly challenging assignment: to fill five testing roles in two weeks.

Our Approach

Computer Futures' approach to this activity was a simple but highly effective one. As these roles were highly specialised and the market a challenging one, a specialist in testing recruitment within the banking industry was assigned to the programme who would act not just as the recruiter on this project but also the liaison between the client and potential employees.

To get under the skin of the company our consultant committed half a day per month to attend the client site and understand what the role meant within the framework of the company and to gain more insight into what would make a good cultural fit. Once we had begun placing people time was also spent in meeting with new hires to discuss their progress and address any issues as they arose.

The primary consultant working on the account was able to gain excellent buy-in from candidates, her comprehensive knowledge of the business enabling her to explain the company, its benefits package and culture in much the same way as its own managers do.

Based on the strength of our consultant's relationship with the new hires and the client she was able to build relationships across the organisation and, as a result, was invited to attend every subsequent candidate interview as an advisor.

The Result

The on-site visibility of our consultant and the consistent delivery of exceptional candidates demonstrated the end-to-end approach of Computer Futures, which led to the HR Director stating that Computer Futures consultants work far harder than any of the agencies on their preferred supplier list.

As a result of this dedication to the areas we were recruiting for and the company, Computer Futures has been able to fill eight of the 12 roles we were offered on a contingency basis, and has become one of the most effective and successful members of the client's recruitment panel.

Yes there may be cheaper agencies who charge lower rates but this is a false economy as they cannot dedicate the time and resource and therefore deliver the strength of IT professionals that we consistently do.
