Computer Futures provides a highly bespoke service for a major high street retailer, demonstrating our flexibility and ability to work to an organisation’s individual requirements.

The Challenge 

For any recruitment consultancy this is a particularly challenging account as the HR contact does not operate a recruitment preferred supplier list (PSL) and works to very strict recruitment processes whereby they do not typically allow direct contact with hiring managers, no onsite face-to-face meetings and no advertising of the brand when recruiting.

Within that framework Computer Futures was tasked with recruiting for roles with highly specialised skillsets: Business Intelligence, Business Analysis, Project Management and Testing within the retail sector.

Our Approach

For Computer Futures the key to success for this programme was that we would be able to get some true insight into what made current employees successful in their role and what kind of person would thrive in this highly competitive environment.

With that in mind we emphasised the importance of strong relationships with our clients and the benefits these bring to their organisations. As a result Computer Futures has been allowed unique access to the HR function and to ensure we gain the most from this access, we allocated a Client Services Manager that would be the liaison for all activity.

The Client Services Manager invested significant time in understanding exactly what HR disliked about the approach of other agencies and the way in which they prefer to work. We adapted our service to ensure we met these requirements and also developed a recruitment programme that would meet the needs of the customer while providing the best opportunity of success in these highly competitive markets.

The Results

The service we were able to offer the client was much improved when we had direct contact with them and meant we could better source the right people, ensuring they were both the right technical and cultural fit. However, as with all our relationships, respecting the wants and needs of the client was also paramount to the success of this campaign.

As a result of this understanding, to date, Computer Futures helped our client source 10 highly skilled contractors in the first 10 months of 2011 alone and the relationship continues to go from strength-to-strength.
